Lake Powell

It was hard for some people to believe me when I said "I've never been to Lake Powell". You'd think I had said "I've never been to the moon". But alas, the time has come when I can no longer say that phrase. My sister-in-law Katie's parents have a houseboat down there and they graciously asked us to come along. It was SO much fun. Just my kind of vacation.

We didn't do a whole lot more than eat, sit in the sun, boat, play on the beach, and check out the beautiful scenery. Oh, and Patrick and I both tried our hand at wake surfing. Ya, it's pretty much awesome.
Thanks to Katie and her family for a week of fun. You guys are awesome!

  3. Emily - Until I met Kim, I had never been to Lake Powell ever and I pretty much received the same kind of reaction when I told them I had never been. At first, I couldn't imagine what all of the hype was about. After all, boating was something I never really did. However, that was then and this is now. Kim's parents do the houseboat thing and it is easily my favorite trip. I love the simplicity of it all. The world could be ending, except for Lake Powell, and you'd never know about it. There are not many place in my world that I can say that about. Solitude with family and friends, in a beautiful spot like that. Heaven.

  6. I know exactly what you mean about the reaction of saying you have never been to Lake Powell because I also never have been there. It looks so pretty and sounds like you had such a fun trip. I love all the pics of Grahm, he seems like such a laid-back, happy baby!
