Baby Izzie

Little Isabelle was born 11 days early, on June 16. She weighed 6lbs 15oz and was 20.5 inches long. She has a lot of long dark hair and beautiful long eyelashes. She is a beautiful little baby. We feel so lucky to have a healthy baby girl.

The delivery went well- I woke up with some painful contractions at 4:30 in the morning, got to the hospital at 6:30 (I was already dilated to an 8!), and had her at 9:07... and it would have been even earlier but I have group b strep, so my doc wanted to wait as long as possible for the antibiotics to work. He actually measured me at about 7:15 and I was already at a 10, but my water hadn't broken yet, so we could wait for a little while.

We called Patrick's sister Andrea to come help with the delivery. She is a labor and delivery nurse at our hospital. I was a little hesitant to ask her to come to the delivery just b/c I thought I would feel awkward, but she was so professional about it that I didn't even think twice about anything. It was really nice to have my doctor be able to deliver Izzie (he missed Grahm's birth). I just think the world of him and Andrea both, so instead of having a nurse that you've just bearly met and a doctor that you don't really care about, I feel lucky to have had them both there.

Izzie is now 8 days old and has been such a good baby so far. She sleeps 5 or 6 hours at night and nurses every 4 hours. She is just happy and so fun to cuddle and kiss. Patrick and I both love her so much!

Grahm wasn't too interested in Izzie, and wanted nothing to do with me (I think he thought I deserted him), so this is what he did at the hospital... pretty fun! :)
